Footbeds

Vibram: The standard (non-UL) Vibram footbeds range in thickness from 1.8 mm to 2.5mm and are available on any sandal in our lineup. They feature a micro pyramid grid anti-slip pattern and have the highest performance in extremely wet conditions. They tend to be the most durable as well (especially the 2.5mm tan Vibram).

SVIG: The Standard (non-UL) SVIG footbeds are also anti-slip but feature a natural-looking surface texture. They are more flexible than the Vibram versions and the texture tends to be more forgiving on the skin but also less grippy after they get well used.

UL Vibram and SVIG: The Ultralight versions all use a micro pyramid grid for their anti-slip surface and are only available on the Pursuit. The UL versions make for an extremely lightweight and flexible Pursuit that has added ground feel.

Straps

Deliberate Life Designs started very small and very scrappy; making sandals exclusively with recycled climbing slings. Realizing that we couldn’t source enough of those for demand, we got our first spools of tubular climbing webbing in 6 colors. As that inventory dwindled, we worked with Ripstop by the Roll to get our own custom-printed webbing in any color we want! We still have the BD webbing in 4 colors and have added 10 more colors from RBTR.

The RBTR straps are slightly wider (by approx. 1mm) than the original BD straps and have a slightly softer, more flexible feel, but are otherwise very similar. We don’t recommend mixing and matching between the two materials because of the different feel.
