Desert slickrock, steep descents after your climb, sketchy approaches to alpine routes - that’s where this sandal shines. The durable sticky rubber bottom and toe edge gives you extra confidence navigating rock and a pair of sandals is vastly more compact clipped to your harness or stuffed in your pack than a pair of shoes.

We use super-durable Dyneema straps on this model since we know you’ll be working these sandals hard. Plus, the straps are easily consumer-replaceable without needing to sew anything - just thread the buckle.

Feet are all so different! We have three ways to order:

  1. Easiest Way: Order your size in the standard shape for the least fuss.

  2. Better Fit Way: If you want to pick from our 5 foot shape options, read about the differences and print our sizing templates to select the best one for your foot.

  3. Fully Custom Way: Because the sole material comes in pre-cut shapes, we aren’t able to offer fully custom shapes in the Approach sandal. Email us if you have specific needs and we will see if we can make it work.

The Enigma is the most technical sandal we offer. Like the Pursuit, this sandal is built for long-term abuse on the trails (just even more so). The same anti-slip footbeds offer excellent grip in wet conditions and the deeper lugs and firmer rubber add traction on loose dirt and rock.

When will I get my sandals?

We are a small company, just Adam and Elizabeth working together to build you a quality pair of barefoot sandals that you’ll love. All sandals are made by hand. This fall (2026) Adam is going to be thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail and some of our lead times will change. All Ready-Made sandals will still ship quickly in 3 business days, while the Made-to-Order sandals will need to wait until Adam is back to build - they should ship in late December.
